AccuVein Inc. (www.accuvein.com), the global leader in vein visualization, today announced that sales to the aesthetic market, including cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists and vascular surgeons, have doubled in 2017, making 2017 a record year in this market.

AccuVein’s flagship product, the AccuVein, helps healthcare professionals locate veins by displaying a map of the patient’s vasculature directly on the surface of the skin. For vascular and aesthetic clinicians, locating peripheral vasculature is invaluable for avoiding veins in cosmetic procedures, such as injectables, and accessing veins for blood draw for PRP and for sclerotherapy procedures.

“Our performance this year underscores just how important vein visualization has become in the Aesthetic field,” said Monica Jugovic, Director of Marketing, “Healthcare professionals recognize that locating and avoiding facial veins helps to minimize bruising and improves patient satisfaction.”

This growth in the Aesthetic market comes at a time when locating veins for cosmetic procedures is more important than ever, as the FDA has issued a safety alert warning that serious injuries may occur due to unintentional injection of soft tissue filler into blood vessels in the face. There are approximately two million soft filler procedures performed annually in the U.S.

AccuVein will be demonstrating the AccuVein vein visualization technology at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (booth #228) in Las Vegas from January 31 to February 3rd.
