Warranty FAQ

How long is my AV300 or AV400 covered by AccuVein’s warranty?

AccuVein’s Limited Warranty covers your device for one year. Warranty service for eligible repairs is available at no charge for twelve months from the date of original purchase.  If the device was purchased from a distributor, we may ask you to provide us proof of the purchase date.

How can I tell if my AccuVein device is in warranty?

AccuVein’s Limited Warranty covers your device for one year from the date of original purchase. AccuVein’s Limited Warranty begins on the date that the device was originally purchased.  AccuVein may need to examine your proof of purchase document to verify your warranty status.

How much will my in-warranty service cost?

Warranty service for eligible repairs is available at no charge for twelve months from the date of purchase. After you return the device that needs service, AccuVein will examine it to confirm the failure is covered by AccuVein warranty.

What types of damages and events are not covered by my warranty?

AccuVein’s Limited Warranty excludes coverage for cosmetic and other damage resulting from accident (such as drop or liquid damage), disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications. Please review the warranty for further details.

Note: An AccuVein device that is ineligible for warranty service may be eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service. For example, a device that has failed due to damage or liquid damage is ineligible for warranty service but eligible for OOW service. However, certain damage is ineligible for OOW service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.

My device is not eligible for warranty service. What are my service options?

AccuVein offers the following options for devices that are not eligible for warranty service.

If you own an AV300 or AV400 that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, AccuVein will service your device for the OOW Service fee. Please contact our support help line for details and pricing.

For example, a device that has failed due to damage or liquid damage is eligible for OOW service. However, certain damage is ineligible for OOW service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.

AccuVein reserves the right to determine whether or not your device is eligible for OOW service. Devices that are repaired or replaced under OOW service have a 90-day limited hardware warranty or assumes the remainder of your warranty or service agreement, whichever is longer.

How do I avoid the expense of drop or liquid damage?

Physical damage: AccuVein devices meet or exceed international industry standards for shock tolerance, but it is still possible to damage the internal or external components of the unit through excess physical shock or repeated physical shock.  Based on our experience, some of the common causes of physical damage are lack of care while inserting the unit in and removing the unit from the hands free arm, and the placement of the unit on the patient’s bed or other uneven surfaces.

Fluid: NEVER SUBMERGE THE DEVICE IN LIQUID. When cleaning the device a damp cloth or wipe should be used – not a wet cloth or wipe.  Too much fluid during cleaning is a leading cause of fluid damage. The cloth is too wet if liquid beads up or drips off the surface of the equipment. As a reminder, the projection window on the underside of the device must be cleaned with a non-residue producing cleaner such as an alcohol swab. Visit our cleaning page for more information.
