Clinical Application Specialist – West

Responsibilities

  • Drive adoption and expansion of the AccuVein technology in key accounts via education. Leverage educational events and account visits, to gain access to new departments and decision makers to influence them to request and use AccuVein devices throughout the hospital.
  • Support key clinical evaluations and implementation ranging from classroom style education to hands-on training, to protocol development and standard operational procedures.
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Directors (RSD) and Territory Managers (TM) to understand the account landscape, including key decision makers and clinical staff, competitive market, and expectations for supporting current business initiatives.
  • Demonstrates an ability to establish relationships with all pertinent account players, including nurse educators, CNO, quality directors, infection control, physicians, nurses, technologists, managers, and administrators.
  • Develop and deliver customized training and support for AccuVein products and services.
  • Lead implementation teams to ensure timely and satisfactory product deployment and education, adhering to customer expectations.
  • Fulfill all hospital credentialing requirements to gain access prior to scheduled education sessions
  • Attend team calls, meetings, and one-on-one calls with RSD.
  • Complete expenses in accordance with AccuVein handbook requirements.
  • Fulfill all required AccuVein yearly trainings in a timely manner, including sunshine act, harassment, etc.
  • 75% travel within North America, some weekend and overnight travel are required.
  • Provide continuous customer support through educational initiatives and sales support.
  • Educational Support:
    • Educate nurses and hospital personnel on technical aspects related to vein illumination products.
    • Offer super user training and educational resources for hospital staff.
    • Organize and manage educational programs, such as one-on-one in-services, staff in-service programs, seminars, workshops for hospitals and participation in trade shows.
    • Coordinate day and night shift activities as per customer approved schedules.
  • Sales Support:
    • Serve as the clinical resource for the sales team and customers.
    • Share calendars with RSD and TMs to schedule educational sessions.
    • Provide customer feedback and required follow -up to territory managers.
    • Coordinate and track the clinical evaluation process, including surveys, evaluation forms, and communication with customers, TM’s, and RSDs.
    • Deliver in-house and field training to CAS’s and TM’s
    • Offer feedback and suggestions for enhancing business and clinical knowledge.

Skills Required

  • Maintains a working knowledge of assigned products, competitive devices and new techniques used in the vein illumination market.
  • Advanced knowledge of vascular access, vascular access devices, and IV therapy preferred. Comfortable in placing peripheral IV catheters.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to maintain numerous priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, takes on additional responsibilities and manages priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a satisfactory record of compliance.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to leverage clinical studies and white papers to drive adoption of AccuVein.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience

  • Current credentialing and/or certification in respective clinical discipline (RN).
  • Nursing experience or comparable medical experience (vascular, placing of IVs).
  • 3-5 years of successful hospital work experience.
