Warranty FAQ

Warranty FAQ

Note:  All standard AV300s sold in the U.S. in 2009 and 2010 were sold at a promotional price that included the 3-year warranty.

How long is my AV300 covered by AccuVein’s warranty?

AccuVein’s Limited Warranty for AV300 covers your AV300 for one year. Warranty service for eligible repairs is available at no charge for twelve months from the date of original purchase.  If the AV300 was purchased from a distributor, we may ask you to provide us proof of the purchase date.

How can I tell if my AV300 is in warranty?

Quick Tip: All standard AV300’s sold in 2009, 2010 and 2011 are in warranty through at least the end of 2011.

Beginning in 2011 AccuVein’s Limited Warranty covers your AV300 for one year from the date of original purchase. AccuVein’s Limited Warranty begins on the date that the AV300 was originally purchased.  AccuVein may need to examine your proof of purchase document to verify your AV300’s warranty status.

How much will my in-warranty service cost?

Warranty service for eligible repairs is available at no charge for twelve months from the date of purchase. After you return the AV300 that needs service, AccuVein will examine the AV300 to confirm that the failure is covered by AccuVein warranty.

What types of damages and events are not covered by my warranty?

AccuVein’s Limited Warranty for AV300 excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident (such as drop or liquid damage), disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications. Please review the warranty for further details.

Note: An AV300 that is ineligible for warranty service may be eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service. For example, an AV300 that has failed due to damage or liquid damage is ineligible for warranty service but eligible for OOW service. However, certain damage is ineligible for OOW service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.

Can I extend service coverage on my AV300 beyond the warranty?

The AccuVein Protection Plan for AV300 will extend the hardware repair coverage and spare-in-the-air loaner program for up to four additional years beyond the initial year. The AccuVein Protection Plan for AV300 must be purchased while the AV300 is currently covered under the original or an extended warranty. Once the warranty expires, special requirements must be met.

My AV300 has an expired warranty. Can I still purchase extended coverage?

Yes.

Option 1: You may purchase the extended warranty at any time at the then current prices. However, continuous coverage is required so the start date of the extended warranty will be when the unit originally went out of warranty. For example, if the unit was out of warranty for 13 months, you would need to purchase both the first year and the second year extension so that there is no gap in coverage. There is a 90-day waiting period before the warranty extension takes effect.

Option 2: You may also purchase an extended warranty within 90 days after a unit has been repaired under one of the OOW services. A credit of 50% of the OOW cost can be applied to the extended warranty purchase.

My AV300 is not eligible for warranty service. What are my service options?

AccuVein offers the following options for AV300s that are not eligible for warranty service.

If you own an AV300 that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, AccuVein will service your AV300 for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below.

Failure due to drop damage $750
Failure due to fluid damage $750
Warranty eligible failure on unit with expired warranty $650

For example, an AV300 that has failed due to damage or liquid damage is eligible for Out-of-Warranty service. However, certain damage is ineligible for OOW service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.

AccuVein reserves the right to determine whether or not your AV300 is eligible for Out-of-Warranty service. AV300s that are repaired or replaced under OOW service have a 90-day limited hardware warranty or assumes the remainder of your standard warranty or AccuVein Protection Plan, whichever is longer.

How do I avoid the expense of drop or liquid damage?

Drop: The AV300 meets industry standards for drop safety, but it is still possible to damage the unit through high drops or multiple drops.  Based on our experience the main causes of drop are lack of care while taking the unit in and out of the hands free arm and the placement of the unit on the patient’s bed or other uneven surface.

Fluid: NEVER SUBMERGE THE AV300 IN LIQUID. When cleaning the AV300 a damp cloth or wipe should be used – not a wet cloth or wipe.  Too much fluid during cleaning is a leading cause of fluid damage. The cloth is too wet if liquid beads up or drips off the surface of the equipment. As a reminder, the projection window on the underside of the device must be cleaned with a non-residue producing cleaner such as an alcohol swab.
